Neeraja Aptikar – Indian Classical Vocalist Based in Burnaby

Neeraja Aptikar is a dedicated Indian classical vocalist and teaches Hindustani Classical & Light Music to all capability students. She has been proudly calling Burnaby home since 2005. Through her initiative Neeraja Aptikar Kalasaadhana Vancouver @neerajaaptikarkalasaadhana , she has been nurturing a love for Indian classical music while building cultural bridges within the multicultural fabric of Burnaby. Her work reflects a deep commitment to preserving tradition while engaging diverse communities across the city.

Since 2014, Neeraja has been conducting Sangeet Sadhana – Indian Classical Music workshops at BNH Hall (Rumble Street), with over 25 multi-ethnicity workshops to date. She has also led stress management workshops sponsored by Burnaby Neighborhood House (BNH) and actively contributed to community wellbeing initiatives, including an addiction prevention program for South Asian teenagers and young adults in 2019. From 2015 to 2018, she performed at the City of Burnaby’s Summer Sundays Concert Series at Metrotown Library, sharing the beauty of Indian classical music with wider audiences.

Neeraja Aptikar is a strong supporter of Namaste Burnaby initiative.
