Vivek Educational Foundation of Canada

Vivek Educational Foundation of Canada (Vivek Canada) is a registered
charity since January 2006 based in Surrey, BC , Canada. We are providing
free elementary education to the boys and girls in the remote jungles of
district Pilibhet, UP. India. We started our schools in thatched grass huts
but now all of them have all weather lockable brick rooms. We always hire
female teachers from the same village to encourage more girls to come to
schools. We also give school supplies, clothes and shoes to the children.
We also provide funds for small job creation projects such as backyard
poultry farms, sowing schools and garment making. This has helped the
ladies to improve their cash flow and nutrition in the family.

We distribute free solar lamps to villages where they don’t have electricity
specially in the jungle areas. Solar lamps have helped the ladies in the
kitchen, kids for doing homework and safety from wild animal at night.
In order to promote gender equality Vivek Canada will be providing
scholarships to three girls at our “Gala of Hope” on Friday, September the
6th. 2019.
